Healthy Community Committees (HCC)
Beginning in 2013, Cochise Health & Social Services (CHSS) and University of Arizona Cooperative Extension (UofACE) supported the development of “healthy community committees” throughout Cochise County. The focus of each committee is to identify and address health concerns specific to their neighborhoods, towns, and surrounding areas, and to assist the Healthy Cochise Coalition to implement CHIP goals and strategies within their communities. In the spring of 2016 there were three existing HCCs in Sierra Vista, Fort Huachuca, and Willcox. With staff support through CHSS and UofA Cooperative Extension there are now eleven active committees. Below is a summary of each groups’ achievements in 2020-21

Fort Huachuca Community Ready and Resilient Council
Convened in 2014, they are addressing health issues on the fort including: workplace wellness, access to healthier eating choices, tobacco-free living, and much much more!
Winchester Heights Health Organization
It's mission is to promote health in the community through active living and healthy eating. They have a new Community Center. Children are receiving vaccinations. The Chiricahua Mobile Clinic provides medical services every Wednesday. They have a food pantry and sport events.
